need three inches more elevation for 03A3
not a rear sight option, moving is too much 300 way high
200 way low, click between is closest
six o clock hold puts hornady match ammo at a tight group at the 9/10 ring
need to shave some off front, have front sights shorter and longer, but way too much shorter and longer
shot three round groups at 200 yards on std target using hornady match ammo supplied by CMP
how much

If you are decided on using CMP
supplied Hornaday match ammo, then your best option is to establish the very best zero you can for the distance at which you will be firing. Personally, I'd take a file to the front sight. That is what I did with my 03-A3. The on target results have been gratifying indeed. JMHO. Sincerely. BruceV.

well really do not have any choice but to use the cmp ammo for the cmp matches....
and thanks for your advice but in my post i said i needed to shave the front
sun i shot only three round groups and since i had a new rear sight i had no idea of zero wind but the first three shots were three inches from center line right
adjusted and next three were on the center line but still low
came up to the click between 200/300 and it was tight group at the 9/10 ring with two tens and one nine
moved (i think the front sight down 1 1/2 moa)
thanks
went from 1.489" (combined) to 1.477" not much

sight adjust worked
set up a two hundred yard target at friends farm, and shot three round group with 'adjusted front sight' used correct target
got into pickup and drove down and checked 2 X's and 1 ten
pasted holes and went pack and shot a ten round group five and five
cleaned it 6 x's and 4 tens, no flyers,
last of my hornady CMP
ammo, but guess it is as ready as could be
got to love the old rifles
