I have no proof by some magic marking or anything, but it IS an Ithaca 37 stock. I'm not relying on the buttplate marking either. It's just a standard shotgun butt. The model is 37, like you said.

M37 stock
It does appear to be a Model 37 stock but the sling swivel attachment is not correct. Ithaca trench guns (WWII and post-war) had sling swivels that were inletted in much the same manner as the Winchester trench guns.
