Need Help with Ishapore 2A safety.

My Ishapore 2A safety lever has no tension and will move forward and back freely. I believe that it is missing a part or something is broken. Does anyone have any drawings or diagrams of how to remove and check the safety on the 2A? If I need any parts, where is the best place to get them. I am in the USAicon. Thanks in advance for all help.

SMLE parts should interchange, within reason. One screw removes the retaining/positioning spring. It may just be loose.

On the Enfield forum click on BDLicon Ltd's link at the top left of the page. Brian Dickicon may very well be able to get you squared away.

I ran into the same problem. The saftey would flip back with every shot. I took my saftey apart and everything looked fine, the only thing that looked different than the drawings that I found was the washer. Mine was simply a thick washer. In the drawings I found it shows a groove cut across the flat of the washer. I reassembled mine and took prairie dog hunting and had no problems. It may be as simple as tightening the saftey screw.

I took the safety apart and I am missing the safety spring washer and lock. My thumb piece has the threaded base. Which parts do I need the slotted or unslotted washer? Thanks again for the help.

Slotted spacer. Otherwise, it won't lock in position.
