Chargers (Clips) for Pattern 14
What's the proper way to insert .303 cartridges into P14 clips? How are the rims supposed to be staggered?

Thanks. That's cute. I just found my clips and I knew how to load them at one time but my memory is what I use to forget with.

Help me with this mates. I've read and seen this staggering pattern, but when I've tried it, a number of times the "second to next rim" was forward of the "first/top/next to be charged rim," causing a jam when the bolt is rammed home as the top cartridge tries to take the one below it along.
I've had no problem when hand loading without the charger clips, or, when using the charger clip to be sure the topmost rim is forward of the cartridge below it.
I must be overlooking something or doing something wrong. Please enlighten me!

No, just keep practicing and don't work at it so hard. Get your drill rds in good shape and get to work. It'll come together with enough practice...

you do not have to stagger the cartridges on the p-14 as the magazine only holds 5 rounds. the staggering is when you load 10 rounds into a mag on a british made rifle #1 mk3 or a #4 mk1 etc. i stagger on my #1 mk3 and do not stagger on my p-14

Thanks Cinders, had not realized this little movement could make such a difference. Right on.

Actually this is what I did to cure the feed jam problem and it worked perfectly, despite being non-spec. (A little variance from Standard Operating Procedure )
Thanks for the tips.
