Ithaca 37 DS Police Special
I have this 12 ga. Ithaca. The gun is parkerized and has rifle sights. I believe it was popular among police 2-3 decades ago but was it ever issued to the military ?

During the Vietnam War the Military did acquire Ithaca Model 37 riot guns that were similar, but not exactly the same. The Military shotguns have a parkerized finish, bead front sight, and non-checkered wood. They did not have rifle sights like the DS Police models.

I have an Ithaca 37, however it doesn't have a serial on the action, only the barrel has the serial. 2903xx with 2 below it. I recently found out what slam fire means when out pigeon shooting with it.
