Replacement 1917 Enfield stock
Friend has a long-ago sporterized M1917 Eddystone he picked up several years ago.
The stock has cracked badly.
Can't find any replacements looking on Numrich, does anyone know of modern replica stocks or sporter stocks (it's now a hunting rifle, doesn't need to be a perfect replica)? I haven't been able to find any.

They show up at the really big gunshows. Start by finding the big shows in your area and ask around at the tables. Good luck.

Is it a sporterized military stock or a commercial stock in a sporter style?
I might have a sporterized military stock available and sporter stock show up on Ebay and Gunbroker fairly often. You can also look for Remington model 30 stocks.

I believe that Bell & Carlson makes a sporter stock (#5171) for the P-14/M1917. Stock is made for the standard G.I. floorplate (not the so called "straigtened" floorplate found on some "sported" M1917's).
As already noted, you'll likely find original GI stocks at a good sized gun show; either in the full, original GI configuration or cut down "sported" versions (bobbed front end). It's possible too that you might find a decent used commercial sport stock which was removed in recent years and replaced with a GI stock in an effort to recreate a GI configuration rifle.

Am I missing something or is there something strange about that stock that's on E-Bay? Is it just the pic, or is the recess for the front receiver lug missing; for that matter where's the hole for the forward receiver screw? Doesn't look like the hole for the tang screw goes all the way through when viewed from the bottom.

Odd looking stock. I would not have it on my rifle. Front guard screw hole is not there. May be filled in. Pass on this one. These sort of stocks are around at gunshows. Good luck.

V6B,
Boyds in Mitchell SD sells them, and they're really nice. On thier home page go down the left side to Military, the 1917 link will popup. Enjoy.
