    Question about M1 Carbine

I just recently got a M1icon Carbine that was made by Universal. Now from what I have read it’s not the best carbine to have, but my dad gave it to me so I can’t complain. My question is, is there any kind of forward optic mount I can buy for a Universal? I found one that is made by UltiMAK, but there system is not compatible with my rifle. Does any one know of any thing else out there?

I want to mount some type of optic on this gun, just looking for a way to do it

    Optics for Universal

B Square makes a unit that fits into the rear sight dovetail. Also, look at the left side of the receiver for several drilled and tapped holes for a weaver scope mount. Gun Parts, SARCO and What a country all advertise for after market optics.

B-Square also used to make a mount for the M1icon carbine that clamps on the barrel. It requires you to cut a slot in the handguard, but works well with a Leupold M8-2x.

Of course, the carbine is a 100 yd rifle, so some folks might argue that you don't need a scope on it.

JMHO, but I think you're putting a $100 saddle on a $50 horse. By that I mean that the M1icon carbine just doesn't strike me as a weapon designed f/exotic aiming devices. Remember, it was originally intended to replace the 1911A1 pistol. Again, JMHO.
