1905 Ross

I have the stock removed from my 1905 Ross and there are two screws in the bottom of the action under where the barrel screws in. they screw in from the bottom close to the chamber end of the barrel. any one know what they are for?

The two screws under the action on the front of the receiver are as follows:
The one under the barrel is not a SCREW. It is a cam that starts the bolt of the Ross to revolve. DO NOT REMOVE IT. THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO NEED TO. If you open the bolt and look into the receiver ring, you will see this cam at the bottom inside of the ring.

The second screw, near the edge of the action, is a locking screw to hold the barrel in place. Caution: The 1905 Ross has a LEFT hand thread.

I have an assembly question as to the ROSS 1905. My gun has the second (triiger for lack of a better word). Used to load a sibgle cartridge at a taime. I do not feel I have it correct. I have a spring that goes with it, not sure where it goes. Can you describe the assembly process or manuals?

The second "trigger" as you refer to it is the forward one at the inside front of the trigger guard. This is really the magazine cut-off lever, and when moved will allow single shot fire while keeping the magazine full for emergencies.

I think the spring you are referring to is about 3/4 inch long and about 3/8 inch in diameter, with the ends of the spring pointing out from both ends. This is the spring for the magazine cut-off lever. One end goes into a small hole (about 1/16 inch diameter) that is located in the floor plate inside the trigger guard between the round forward hole in the trigger guard that the cut-off lever comes out, and the rectangular hole for the trigger. There is a similar hole in the cut-off lever that the point on the other end of the spring goes into, forcing it upwards to the normal loading and firing position.

The spring does not set at a vertical angle, but at about 45 degrees.
