    '69 .303 HXP ammo value?

Sorry to bring up greek ammo again, did the search, but wondering if 50 cents a round loose for '69 HXP is reasonable? I know it's boxer primed, noncorrosive (?) and good brass for reloading. Thanks, Don

Yes. Where else can you get Mk7z spec. Ammo for $10 a box?

Here in Aust, even at a dollar a shot it is cheaper than buying projectiles and brass that isn't half the quality, let alone the bang stuff for the inside. The only caution would be external condition, being "loose rounds". If they were excessively green or seriously discoloured brass, might lower the price.

'Loose' as in original 48 rd cartons, but not in chargers/bandoleers, my bad. Sorry you pay a premium down under, as do my friends in the U.K. Cheers, Don

Been my experience that the Greek ammo is really only good for a couple of reloads, they split at the neck a lot. Cheers Ross

I have some that are up to load No9 at MkVII specs. (takes a while to get there, I have a thousand cases in use) Have not had a case failure yet. Are you overworking the brass? How often do you trim case length? Might be something real simple/ easy to fix.

I reckon its the best surplus .303 you can buy. I bought around 500 rounds of it around 20 years ago when you could pick it up here in the UKicon for £20/100.
These were all '69 dated in cartons of 48 and 'as new'

The cases have been used for reloading ever since. Using them in the same rifle and neck sizing them only have given me up to 12 reloads with no sign of failure

HXP ammo is excellent. current price as of 1/12/12 is 75 cents a pop in the US

I buy it when I can get it locally. As for reloading I get them through the bren gun 6 to 8 times before I get head seperation I have never had a neck split. I have about 400 cases that I run through a bren gun and they hold up fine. they last longer than any other boxer primed case.
