Hi guys. I have a 1915 LithgowSHT LE (sporterized) that I am considering selling. The receiver and bolt have matching numbers but it has been rebarrelled including a front shrouded sight and has a 1943 stock on it. (The mag serial # also does not match.) Not sure what kind of wood is on it but it is one of the nicest grains I have seen on an Enfield. I would consider the overall condition very good. I have attached a number of pictures to show the markings. I know what a few of the markings mean but have no idea about the majority of them!
A bit of background: I acquired this rifle from the widow of a vet who served in the Royal CanadianNavy in WWII in the Pacific and got it during his years in the service.
I would appreciate your advice on what this piece may be worth and how to best go about selling it. I am on gunnutz as well as here.
Thanks!
