1903 Sporter with interesting bolt handle
I have a chance to pick up 1903 Sporter Serial Number 866567 for 200.00, other than being drilled for scope mounts the Receiver is unmolested. I'll need a barrel but every other part I have just waiting for something like this. Just not sure though.. Can anyone run the serial number? 866567
I will say though, I have never seen a bolt that has been shaped in the form of a male appendage though.

I’d give you half your money back for the bolt.
I think it’s neat!
Edit: I posted too quick before seeing your comment haha. I thought it looked like an acorn.

That IS molested Bill...drilled and tapped. Chuckindenver can sort it back to original spec but it needs everything. Which, you say you have...

Jim, You do have a point. But I did say other than being drilled for scope mounts. I'm going to grab the rifle just because, once I have it in hand I'll decide what to do with it. at $200.00 not much to lose on this one. I have enough original parts (less a barrel) to bring it to an original configuration or even to a really nice hunting rifle for one of the kiddies.

If you want the stripped bolt handle you are more than welcome to it, I'll have no use for it. Just drop me a PM.

No, that's nothing to lose. It's still a serviceable sporter in .30 cal and would likely do a teen boy his whole life as his starter/main hunter.

I had one with a fancy bolt on it. I restored the rifle with new military stock and barrel and bolt, salvaged all the other part (trigger had a bubba job that was thankfully able to be undone). I cleaned the bolt up and polished it to it's initial glory in order to sell it, but haven't gotten around to it and it sits in a ziplock bag with some oil in it.

That bolt is a might prettier than the one on this rifle.

I hit a snag on buying this rifle. I have a Type 3 FFL but can't that the rifle be shipped directly to me in the Peoples Republik of Kalifornia I have to have it shipped to a type 1 FFL. My FFL moved out of state and I can't find a FFL who has a reasonable transfer rate. Most here want $100.00 to do the transfer.

Deal. I'll send you back some goodies in trade value...I'm sure I have something you'd like.
Let me know if you get the FFL stuff sorted out!

'ssgross' - Your bolt-knob appears to be a 're-shaped' 1903 Striker-Rod knob.
