He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain that which he cannot lose
There are no great men, only great challenges that ordinary men are forced by circumstances to meet.
Two guys slightly right of center with K98ks. Trophies I guess. They're a bit disorganized for prisoner handling I think. I don't see anyone tasked with nothing but watching POW. Too much milling around...

Yes, strange situation. The only thought I can come up with is that the picture might have been taken so late in the war that those Germansoldiers didn’t have any fighting spirit left… All was lost, but life. Yet…

I understand exactly what you mean. And, probably, knowing myself… But who knows really what was going on?

hard to say what is behind the camera or what is left or right out of frame - note the seven Germansoldiers being processed in the middle of the group that are standing up

Looks cold.
Wondering about the GI middle right. Is he a lefty or is the POW about to get a surprise.
As an aside….When I see pics like this I can’t help reflect on my four first-generation American Uncles who fought overseas (3 ETO one pacific). They knew that at least one of their cousins from the old country was in a Germanuniform.

Its strange, I think that they be Allied troops, Note the rank insignia of the back of the helmets to the folks off to the right in the picture. Any ideas?
