I've had pretty good luck with Fiebings leather dye, but it will dry the leather out a good bit. I tried Lexol and Nokona baseball glove treatment, but went back to Kiwi mink oil dressing in a can. Worked into the leather, I ended up with dark brown ones from the raw tan color. Can't replace 50 years of GI sweat and oil, but they look pretty good.

I used neatsfoot oil. def darkened up a tan sling, and some handling afterwards, gave it a good look. as mentioned above though cant replace 50 years of sweat and dirt put there by gi's handling it almost daily..

You can use Pecard's dressing and leave it in direct sunlight. That will darken it quickly. Just make sure to dress it again afterward to that it's not too dry.
