I assumed that you referring to me correcting Peter's incorrect identification of the wrong tap that was sent to the O.P. and partly because you posted your post directly after my post, with the information about the correct tap. If you were referring to the people who sent the incorrect tap to the O.P., Jim, and not me then I apologise to you.

cycle thread BSC/BSCy

There was a special/unique thread system used on some British motor bikes; was it the same as cycle thread or another thread system, bigduke? The only reason that I know this is because I knew someone with boxes of the nuts and bolts in their garage and if I remember correctly it is a fairly fine thread.
