Funny, the only reason I started this post is that I have been looking for a modern handgun in 9mm and the market is dominated by plastic. I watched a guy on the YouTUBE stippling the grip of his Glock with a soldering iron. Just more of a reason I believe these to be throw-a-way guns. Heat degrades plastic hitting it with a soldering iron just speeds up the process, I would assume that firing the thing would cause the same eventually.
