The first appears to be a US Type of cavalry holster, possibly artillery. The pivot is so it rides more comfortably on the leg while on a horse. It's not a 1911 as that is what I just purchased. WWII era due to date but used postwar due to blackened color. WWII would have been brown. Not sure who was still using horses that time frame. All speculation based on my researching my 1911 purchases.Information
