Does that mean a gashbin on the deal?

That would be way easier than reshaping the bolt knob. I could see a cut and threading...

I'll have to look up what all that means now. Interesting.
ah, so the back half of the striker rod was cut off, then turned down, and bent to final shape and welded on the bolt body.
My first guess was that someone chopped the knob off the original, ground the handle to shape, and attached a mass-produced knob at the end.
Takes part of my smile away thinking bubba put that much more time into making it. He certainly didn't put much time into his trigger job. My bolt, and the one in this thread, are the only ones I've seen. At first I thought who would want a for a bolt handle, then I realized the detail towards the top has worn, and it was supposed to be an acorn.

Have a close look and see if it isn't tapped and threaded on...

I don't think it's screwed on. There is a hairline visible in one place on the base against the bolt body.
Here is a pic up underneath. Interesting.

sorry to hijack your thread baker. If you buy that rifle, have it shipped out to me. I'll hold on to it for ya while you wait on retirement or a reasonable ffl, whichever comes first.

you can see the seam where the handle was attached to the body. there could be a seam hiding in decorative ring above the knob indicating it was screwed on, I couldn't tell difinitively. I looked at the knobs on some extra striker rods...all are larger diameter than this bolt knob, and none have edges that angle in toward the rod as seen in the second picture. could the final knurling have been done with a fine file by hand? Has anyone seen replacement knobs in general of this style?

Still looks great to me!
Even if it’s just an homage to the striker knob, that’s pretty cool.
Now just to find the right rifle to put it on!
